Nigeria, Abuja: The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has signed a $170 million contract to build four transmission substations in Abuja under the Abuja Transmission Project being financed by Agence Française de Développement (AFD), reports Daily Trust.
The construction of the 330 kV substations in Lugbe and Apo in Abuja will be handled by General Electric, according to Daily Trust.
The project should boost all-round electricity supply in Abuja, and is scheduled for completion within 18 months.
In addition, TCN will invest $25 million to build a 330 kV transmission substation in Bauchi.
