USA, Louisiana: Entergy Louisiana announced completion of two major transmission projects, including one of the largest in the company’s history, which are part of $465 million transmission expansion and upgrade plan for this year.
The Lake Charles Transmission Project, one of the largest single transmission project in the company’s history, included construction of two new substations, expansion of two others, and adding about 25 miles of high-voltage transmission lines, both 500 kV and 230 kV, with an aim to transmit power more efficiently into the fast-growing region, reports T&D World.
In another project, the Oakville-Alliance transmission project, the utility rebuilt and expanded the Oakville substation to construct a 230 kV transmission path between one of Entergy Louisiana’s substations in Jefferson Parish and a substation in Plaquemines Parish.
Entergy Louisiana is now more than half-way through its $465 million investment plan in transmission expansions for this year.
