United Kingdom: National Grid moved two large power transformers over the weekend, one to its substation in Surrey and one to a substation in West Midlands.
The company moved a 143-tonne transformer from Tilbury Docks, Essex, to its West Weybridge substation in Surrey. The equipment will be installed at the substation to help National Grid continue to deliver electricity across the South and beyond, the company said in the press release.
Another new power transformer was moved from Ellesmere Port to Willenhall substation in West Midlands. The new piece of equipment measuring 8.2m long x 5.2m wide x 4.4m high and weighing 170 tonnes will help National Grid continue to deliver electricity across Midlands and beyond.
