SPECO has completed the production and delivery of 10 converter transformers for the Changji-Guquan ±1,100 kV DC transmission project.

All ten units, which are single-phase and double-winding transformers, have successfully passed all of the tests.

The insulation level of the AC side of each transformer is 750 kV, and the capacity of each single unit is 607.5 MVA, with the weight exceeding 500 tons.

To satisfy the requirements of railway transportation, the outline dimensions had to be reduced which put higher demands on the design, technology and manufacture of the transformers.
