United Kingdom, Kent: A large power transformer will hit Kent's roads next week as it is moved from National Grid’s Sellindge substation to Dover.
The transformer will leave Sellindge substation aboard an 87-metre specialist delivery vehicle and will be travelling to Dover overnight on Friday, February 3 with a police escort, reports Kent Online.
The load will need two trucks, one at the back and one at the front, to propel it.
A source from National Grid has told Transformers Magazine the transformer is being taken offsite for maintenance work, which will be performed by a specialist company in Germany.
